How it works.
Apply
Fill in the form below. Tell us what you would like to do, when, and for how long.
We match you
We reply, talk through the options and agree a placement that fits your skills and what the community needs.
Prepare
We complete safeguarding checks and send a guide to travel, health and what to pack.
Arrive and orient
We meet you at the airport, take you to the volunteer house and run an orientation on the community, the work and our code of conduct.
Volunteer and report back
You work alongside local staff and young people. At the end we share what your placement achieved.
Children and communities come first.
Our volunteers work around children and families, so we apply clear rules. Every volunteer agrees to them before they arrive.
- Safeguarding checks before a placement is confirmed.
- Safeguarding training and our code of conduct at orientation.
- No unsupervised time with children. Local staff are always present.
- No photographs of children without consent, and none on personal social media accounts.
- Skills-based work first: we match you to what the community asked for, not what we would like to do.
- A clear route to report a concern: email info@afroedge.org.
[Link the full child-safeguarding policy here once approved.]

Questions.
Do I need qualifications?
Not for most placements. Health professionals may need approval to practise in Zimbabwe, and we will guide you through it. Skills in teaching, coaching, farming or data are always welcome.
Can I come with a group?
Yes. Groups of five or more get group rates, and we can design a project around your group’s skills.
Where will I stay?
In shared rooms at the volunteer house in Victoria Falls, with meals provided.
Can I explore Victoria Falls too?
Yes. Activities are not included in the fee, but we can suggest and help arrange them for your free days.
