Childcare and Development Project
This fantastic program is dedicated to helping the children and youth of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. From the majestic Falls themselves, the many adventure options on offer, the wildlife and the scenery, this is most definitely a place to tick off the bucket list while also helping youth in need. Volunteers on this program facilitate extra-curricular activities for children and youth through a child center which supports those who need it most. The center’s aim is to empower children aged 5 – 15 and youth aged 16 – 25 by supporting their educational achievements and to also offer additional programs and activities to keep participants engaged in a society where life is extremely difficult on a daily basis and future prospects are bleak. This is a must do program for the international volunteer who wish to help children and youth in a constructive and positive manner and to help them achieve their future goals. International volunteers are unlikely to find a more amazing location than this to help make a difference to the lives of others. The program requires a willing workforce of volunteers on the ground to help and facilitate the wonderful activities it offers.

International volunteers are crucial to the success of this project. While acknowledged internationally for the great work it facilitates, it desperately needs volunteers on the ground to run the program on a hands-on basis. There is no minimum duration of stay, with volunteers encouraged to come and experience the program and help for as long as their time allows. A full volunteer orientation is given through the project office on the day of arrival, after volunteers are collected from the airport or bus station.
By showing that they care for these disadvantaged children and youth, sharing their knowledge and skills and helping to motivate them, volunteers have a direct, positive and long-lasting impact on their lives. The programs and volunteers give these vulnerable young people some hope in a life that offers little. This is a fantastic program for volunteers who want to make a difference to the lives of others.
