Community Development Program
This program aims to support children to attain early childhood development education from the most essential age of 3 to 4 years. On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you to volunteer your efforts in pursuit of their achievement. Supporting children access Early Childhood Development Education has potential benefits ranging from improved development to better schooling outcomes and increased lifelong productivity. This significantly has a positive implication on alleviation of poverty making this program a necessary intervention in promoting equity and equality in the future.
We focus on bridging the education gap through partnerships with international volunteers from all walks of life to champion the education agenda through engaging with children and employing internationally acclaimed skills in realizing sustainable development. Of greater interest to our international volunteers is the undisputed evidence of the gap between the poor and the rich even behind the majestic Victoria Falls. We seek to bridge this gap through our innovative and interactive approaches as well as knowledge networking. International volunteers will not regret their choice for selecting Victoria Falls as their volunteer destination as we guarantee you an experience filled with both amazing community development interventions and adventure opportunities ranging from white water rafting along the renowned longest east-flowing river in Africa and the largest flowing into the Indian Ocean from Africa – the Zambezi River. Take these volunteer opportunities to experience Africa’s jungle were you have an endless list of wildlife exposure and experiences.
What you will do in this program…
While on this program, international volunteers will have an opportunity to engage in classes and playing with children. ECD was only made mandatory in Zimbabwe by 2013; volunteers are thus needed to strengthen structures and systems to promote the ECD ideology. You will therefore be one of the few volunteers who will have a significant contribution in shaping the direction of ECD education in the region at this stage. You may find yourself engaged in construction works, establishing play grounds for children, working with parents to enhance their parenting skills among others. We work in more than 50 schools in our region which presents you with an opportunity to appreciate diversity from different communities. International volunteers are also welcome to chip in with ideas on what could work best for the promotion of ECD education for these children in need. Make a date and get an experience of a lifetime! You will definitely thank us…
